Israels vibrant city located at the Mediterranean coast is no longer an insider tip when it comes to beautiful and exciting global travel destinations. Multiple people fly to Tel Aviv to visit the famous beach right between the traditional old town of Jaffa in the south and the modern Independence Park in the north.
During my last journey in that lovable city, I noticed that the surprisingly young population was mobile with modern mobility devices such as e-scooters and small electric fold bikes! So many young people passed me with it during my walk along the sea promenade or on Rothschild Boulevard. I asked myself where the enthusiasm for these modern trends comes from particularly as almost no-one uses that kind of trendy machines in my hometown Munich yet.
I quickly found out that Israels citizens are above average interested in technology and that the society is characterized by a high level of inventiveness in the high-tech and medical technology industry. Our modern, connected world would not exist without the wealth of ideas from more than 1200 Start-ups in Tel-Aviv!
I had the chance to ask three students from the Tel Aviv University – John (30), Noa (31) and Shimon (25) – which I met at a local cafe about the roots of that inventiveness. Surprisingly it goes back to two influences:
The deep link two the US government.
The tough and intense three years military service in which young people are specially educated in business management & team leadership.
